Catherine Lavenia “Peggy” Norris was the fourth of seven children of John Samuel Norris and Mattie Lavenia Greene Norris. She was born January 9, 1910 in ColquitCounty, GA and died December 9, 1989 in Chipley Florida after several years of being institutionalized suffering from Alzheimers disease.

The Norris family moved around, following the sawmill business all over south Georgia. By the time of the 1930 census (April 2, 1930), Mattie and Sam were separated. Mattie is listed her as the head of household living in Brooks County, Quittman, GA, and all the children except Ruth are still living at home. The three oldest girls, Oris, Ethel, and Ruth, and graduated from high school while the family was living in Quitman, GA.

Mattie and Sam divorced in 1932. Mattie and the children moved to Mt. Dora, Florida in 1934. Peg, Oris, James, and George made this move. After Mattie’s death, the three youngest children (Peg, James, and George) came to live with their father and his new wife Amelia in Camp Hill, AL.

At Camp Hill High School, Peg met Ernest Cecil “Jiggs” Aaron, son of Martin L. and Arementha Clenontine Aaron of Camp Hill. Peg and Jiggs had two children, a daughter and a son. Jiggs served in the Navy during World War II. He was a carpenter by trade. At some point, the couple and their children moved to Miami, where the lived most of their lives. When Jiggs retired, they moved to Chipley, Florida to be closer to their daughter and her family.

Peg died December 9, 1989 in Chipley Florida after several years of being institutionalized suffering from Alzheimers disease. Jiggs died December 22, 2002. They are both buried in the New Orange Cemetery in Chipley, FL.
