Mrs. Grace L. Youngen, 83, of 1051 Kaderly st. NW, New Philadelphia, died Sunday night in Union Hospital of complications following surgery.
She was born in Rosamond, Ill., and was preceded in death by her parents, John and Florence Chestnut Bess; her husband Simon; a brother, and grandchild. Before her husband's death in 1968, the couple observed their 61st wedding anniversary.
She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in New Philadelphia and a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star at Arcana, Ill.
Surviving are a daughter and son, Mrs. William (Sonny) (Gladys A.) Lile of New Philadelphia and Clifton B. Youngen of Dayton; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and a brother, Dudley Bess of Springfield, Ill.
Services will be Wednesday at 1:30 in Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home with Rev. William McCabe officiating. Burial will be in East Avenue Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
