Major League Baseball Player. He played many years in the minors and amateur leagues, with one stop in the Major in 1884, playing 27 games at shortstop for the Detroit Wolverines of the National League. He also managed and umpired in various minor leagues. Later in life, he served on the New Britain, Connecticut city planning commission, having been appointed by two different mayors of the city to that post. He was also active in many fraternal organizations in New Britain.
