Graveside services for Bill Sams, 35, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. today in the City of Lubbock Cemetery with the Rev. Roger Garrett officiating.

Burial will be under direction of Sanders Funeral Home.

He died Saturday, Nov. 21, 1998.

He was born on May 22, 1963, in Lubbock. He attended Lubbock public schools. He was a military policeman for the U.S. Army, serving in Grenada. He had been employed by the Lubbock Sheriff's Office. He was a singer/songwriter since the age of 6. He played in various bands in Lubbock and, in 1991, he formed the group Centerline.

Survivors include his father, A.M. Tuffy Sams of Garland; three sons, Stephen Sams of Nebraska, Ian W. Sams of Lubbock and Josh Myers of Lubbock; three daughters, Christina Sams of Nebraska, and Summer Sams and Savannah Sams, both of Lubbock; a brother, Nathan Sams of Lubbock; his maternal grandfather, Pete Lang of Lubbock.
