Harold Gilbert, a young man twenty years of age, who lived with his uncle John Heeren was killed Wednesday while hitching a team of horses to a rack wagon. It is not known exactly how the accident happened, but it is supposed that the team became unmanageable and knocked Mr. Gilbert down. His skull was fractured and his jaw broken. He lived but a few minutes after the accident. The team ran away. Mr. Gilbert leaves one sister, Emily and one brother, Elden and a host of relatives. His parents died some years ago. His funeral was held Friday afternoon at the German Reform church. A large number of relatives and friends attended. Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. Schnucker officiated.
