Oscar Bert "Bart" Bartlett, 76, of 155 N. Main Street, Salt Lake City, a former Pleasant Grove resident and brother of Mrs. Harold (Etta) Tucker, of Provo, died Friday evening in the Salt Lake General Hospital following a four-month illness.
He was born October 5, 1882, in Allgood [Algood], Tennessee, a son of Albert Francis and Clema Goan Bartlett. He received his early education in Tennessee, and later came to Pleasant Grove with his parents.
A self-educated chemist and assayer, he moved to Los Angeles, where he was employed for many years as a chemist. In 1944, he returned to Kennecott Copper Company, where he worked until his retirement in 1952. He was a member of the Christian Church.
Surviving are one brother and three sisters, W. J. Bartlett, Salt Lake City; Mrs. F. H. (Margaret) Peterson, Aberdeen, Idaho; Mrs. Mark (Lola) Wilde, American Fork; and Mrs. Tucker, of Provo.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 12 noon in the Larkin Mortuary in Salt Lake City. Friends may call at the mortuary Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday prior to services. Burial will be in the Provo City Cemetery under the direction of the Berg Mortuary.
