John moved from NC. to Union SC.and began working at, what is now known as,the Cedar Hill Plant in Jonesville,South Carolina.

John was a well respected man and loved by the ones who knew him. He retired from the Milliken Cedar Hill Plant in Jonesville and many regretted that he would not stay. He was a Maintenance Technician and could tell you anything and everything about all of the machines there. He was a hard working and dedicated employee .

He was a private person but enjoyed life to the fullest when not working. He loved to fish; freshwater and deepsea fishing, ocean, lake, river, and pond,as I said he loved to fish.

John was predeceased by his parents, James and Hattie Gore from NC. He was divorced from his first wife, Winnie Faye Gore and remarried in 1975 to Erlene H.Sparks. At his death he and Erlene were also divorced but had remained good friends and kept contact almost daily. We all were saddened because of his death and he will always be in our hearts and in our thoughts.

John left behind his children Sally F. Gore,Sherry D. Gore and Jeremy D. Gore of Jonesville,SC. and a step daughter Shuree Burgess of Lockhart,South Carolina,His step grandchildren Amber Speer,Alex Speer,Ashley Speer and Larissa Black all in Union County.

He had four sisters; Rosie Hartman and Ailene Gore of Newport News, Virginia and Liz Dunn of Asheboro NC. and Nellie Shelton of Enoree,SC. He also had a number of neices and nephews.
