Additional information was taken from U.S. and International Marriage Records, 1560-1900; Georgia, Marriage Records From Select Counties, 1828-1978; US Census enumerations for 1870 and 1880 (with spouse and children in Glade, Hall, Georgia,) and 1900 (with spouse and children in Whelchels, Hall, Georgia.)
Contributor #47222538 has suggested that Nancy was the daughter of Thomas Shockley (1793-1862) and Elizabeth Shockley (1799-1891.) No sources were provided, and I could not find any. Mrs. Hulsey's obituary stated that her maiden name was Shockley, but did not mention the names of her parents.
