Mrs. Mary Whitcomb, an aged lady residing in Adrian, about thirteen miles east of Nauvoo, died last Sunday at the ripe age of eighty years. She was one of the pioneers of this section and was well known in Nauvoo, having resided in Powellton vicinity for a number of years. The lady reared a fine family of five sons, all of whom survive her. Farn Whitcomb, one of the sons, resides in Nauvoo, the others in the farm districts east of the city. The funeral occurred last Tuesday and was attended by a large concource of sympathizing relatives and friends.
