NOTE CORRECTION ON SEPT. 3, 2013: Nancy was born in Morgan County, Illinois not in Macon County, Ill.

I have multiple sources that provide additional information about this family including: marriage records; the 1850, 1860 & 1870 Adair County, MO. federal census records; Isham's pension records; a list of residence for Adair Co., Mo. done in 1889 (Nancy J. Dodson is listed as being born Sept. 15, 1824 in Morgan Co., Ill. & settled in Adair Co., MO. in June of 1831) and the History of Adair, Sullivan, Putnam and Schuyler Counties, Missouri published in 1888 (Nancy's husband is mention several times in the History book but only their son, James B. Dodson has a biography on page 969). In his bio. it states that Nancy's parents came to Missouri in 1841 and settled in Adair County.
