Lute Penfield, 18-year-old son of Silas Penfield, residing in the town of Verona, Dane County, killed himself by sending a bullet from a 38-caliber revolver into the region of his ear. Young Penfield was found dead in his father's barn and appearanced indicated that the death was intentional.
