Services will be Sunday February 26, 2012 at 3:00 PM at the O'Brien family cemetery at the LIT Ranch, north of Boys Ranch.
Johnny O'Brien was born July 17, 1917 in Hereford, Texas to Will and Exie O'Brien. After graduating from Amarillo High he attended Texas A&M and was awarded an honorary Doctor of Education by WT A&M in 2010. He returned home from A&M to work in the oil field and then enlisted in the Navy to serve in WWII. He married Mary Paul who preceded him in death in 1985. He later married Pat Norris who preceded him in death in 2010. An Amarillo businessman mainly in oil and gas O'Brien was also an avid bridge player and fisherman.
Johnny is survived by sons Bill and wife Alice, Jay and wife Susie and a daughter Fay Moore and husband Bobby; a sister Peggy Watson; seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
