Thou' the passing away of Mrs. Eliza Noble Warner was not entirely unexpected, yet it caused a shock to the hearts of her many friends when they heard Thursday morning that she was dead. Almost 50 years ago Mrs. C. E. Warner came to Windsor a beautiful young bride. She was kind, cheerful and gracious and won a lasting place in the hearts of her neighbors. She was a sincere Christian, a member of the Congregation Church and of the Ladies Aid and Missionary Society, the Woman's Christian Temperance Union and for many years served as Secretary for each of these societies. Her heart was always in every good cause, which tended to uplift and better the neighborhood. I remember on one occasion, when called upon for a sentiment, she responded by quoting the following verse: "There's so much good in the worse of us, And so much bad in the best of us, That it ill becomes any of us, to speak against the rest of us. This was typical of her disposition in dealing with others and I can positively say, that in the half century of our acquaintance I never heard her speak an unkind word about anybody. She freely praised good traits and ignored the bad ones. And in the beautiful Christian home established by herself and her worthy husband, Col. C. E. Warner, were reared in ways of righteousness, 6 children and thou' they are now men and women engaged in various life occupations they will ever miss the wise counsel, the tender appreciation, the unfailing love of a devoted mother. The sympathy of the community goes out to the children and the bereaved husband whose heart and home are desolated by the death of his loved and loving companion of many years.
