Kathleen first married 1LT Robert L. "Bobby" Crosswait on January 15, 1943 in Vincennes, IN. Robert was from Sanborn County, South Dakota. 1LT Crosswait was sent overseas to the Pacific theater in August of 1943. 1LT Crosswait was a P-38 pilot in the 431st Fighter Squadron, 475th Fighter Group, USAAF and was shot down over New Guinea in the Southwest Pacific on June 30, 1944. His presumptive date of death was established as February 11, 1946.

Kathleen second married Dave Wilmer Buck on June 25, 1947 in Kinder, LA. Dave, also, served in World War II.

Kinder-Kathleen Buck, 86, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2012. Her funeral service will be held at Kinder Bible Church on Monday, February 27, 2012 at 10am. Rev. Robert Jones will officiate.

Burial will follow in Kinder McRill Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.

"Kat" as she was affectionately known, was a lifelong resident of Kinder. She was a member of Kinder Bible Church. She enjoyed working in her yard, playing cards with her friends and loved her two cats, Calley and Daisy.

Kathleen is survived by two very special nieces, Robin Lipari and husband, Lenny and Nancy Landry and husband, Craig, all of New Iberia; her cousins, Charles Nevils and wife, Wanda of Kinder, Dr. Bobby Nevils of Lafayette, Betty Nevils (wife of deceased cousin, Tommy) of Kinder, Sylvia Manuel and husband, Kermit of Kinder, Jerry Nevils and wife, Gail of Kinder, Cynthia Smith of Kinder, and Rick Nevils and Noelle LeBlanc of Baton Rouge.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dave Buck; her mother, Mrs. Ruby Hamm; one step-sister, Lucy Reynolds; one step-brother, Buddy Marcantel; and her cousin, Tommy Nevils.
