Funeral services for James W. Brackin, 74, who died Friday at his farm south of here after a long illness, were held Sunday at 1 p.m. at the residence and at 2 at Mt. Pleasant Church in charge of Rev. Homer Moore of Alliance. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in charge of Blazer & Graham. Mr. Brackin was a member of Pleasant Hill Methodist Church.
Surviving are three sons, Ira of the home, Curtis of Carrollton and Henry of Union Twp. one daughter, Miss Jessie Brackin of the home; one brother, Neal of Union Twp; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Swinehart of New Philadelphia and Mrs. Rebecca Shiltz of RD 1, Bowerston; also eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was a 2nd cousin 3xremoved to Gail Lyons Grier.
