THE DAILY BULLETIN, Martinsville, Va., Thur., June 11, 1936, p. 10, col. 4 [edited]. Final rites for I. Edward Nolen, 59, Henry county citizen and former county police officer, who died at his home on River road Wednesday following several weeks illness, will be held Thursday at the Turner burial ground near Dodson (Patrick Co.). Burial will follow at the same place. Surviving are his wife, who prior to her marriage was Miss Bettie Turner, and the following children: Mrs. Sam Spencer, Bassett; George Nolen, Philippine Islands, Robert, Oliver and Misses Edna, Irene and Vivian Nolen all of this city. the deceased was a native of Patrick county, but moved to this community about 15 years ago, residing at Koehler until sometime ago.
