Alice Gault, 94, of Beaver, PA, died on January 19, 2012 in Nahar's Veranda Place, South Beaver, PA. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on May 11, 1917, the daughter of Frederick C. and Margaret Dixon Freidel. After graduation from Allderdice Pittsburgh, she attended Bucknell University. In 1942 she became a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she was active with the Hodge Band. She was a committed and active member of the church, serving as an Elder, president of the Board of Trustees, and on the Property Committee. Her life was filled with service, including the Gertrude Barrett Service Group - formerly Children's Aid of Beaver Co., Merrick Art Gallery, The McIntosh Ladies Auxiliary, Beaver Historical Society, Ladies Blackhawk Golf League for 50 years, Pins and Strikes Bowling League, Tusca Garden Club, a volunteer at the Medical Center, a secretary for Manufacturing Assoc. of Beaver Co. for 14 years, and co-owned the Card, Candle and Record Shop. Her husband, Craig, and she were awarded the Art Pallan Humanitarian Award for 40 years of voluntary work through the Western PA Myasthenia Gravis Association. Preceding her in death was her husband of 51 years, Craig; her daughter, Carole McGowan; two sisters, Gladys Pardee and Margaret Freidel, and a brother, Clarence Freidel. Surviving are two nieces, Margaret Peterson and husband William, and their three children, Kurt, Ivy and Ruth and spouses all of Minnesota; Alice Taylor and husband Carl, and their three sons, Greg, John and Dan and spouses all of Beaver Falls. There are several great and great-great nieces and nephews.
