Monticello- Virgil Leslie, 69 of Idaville, died at 8:45 a.m. Friday in the Chase Manor Nursing Home at Logansport, following a lengthy illness. Born in Carroll county, he was a son of Manford and Martha Ann (Briney) Leslie. His marriage in 1931 was to the former Elsie Williams, who survives. Leslie was a retired employee of the Penn Central Railroad and a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. He was also a member of the Idaville Methodist Church, Burnettsville Masonic Lodge and a 32nd degree Mason, Fort Wayne Valley.
Surviving with the widow are one sister, Mrs. Iva Shoop, South Bend; one grandchild and three great grandchildren. One daughter preceded in death.

First married Essie Myrtle Clark and they divorced, then married Elsie Williams.

Essie and Virgil had Betty Jean Leslie Sturgeon.
