Sallie D. Spivey, 84, Indianapolis daughter of Jessie (Theo) McBeath and Eulie Lee McBeath passed away on Friday, February 24, 2012.
She was always very industrious, working in various professions and industries, including farming in the South. Following her love of cooking, Mrs. Spivey worked at the popular Marbles Restaurant in Indianapolis for over 25 years. She also cooked for Wheeler Mission and the Salvation Army.
Very, very passionate about gardening, she truly happy when working in her yard.
Mrs. Spivey was deeply devoted to preserving her family and constantly encouraged all family members to stay in contact to love and support one another. She was planning a 2012 Mothers' Day gathering to bring all the children together in 2012.
She joined George Spivey in holy matrimony on July 8, 1944.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory, Daughters: Lotha Jean(Sylvester) Bennett and Jerelene (Tony) Allen; Sons: George, Jr. (Carol)Spivey, Charles (Marie)Spivey, Kenneth Lee Spivey, Jimmy Earl Spivey, Larry (Tonya)Spivey, Ricky Wayne Spivey and Randy Lamar Spivey, Willie Joe Spivey; Sisters: Hattie Mae (Frank) Matheny, Jopoline Johnson, Catherine(Charlie )Blackwell; Brothers, Carleton McBeath and Cleven (Mary) McBeath; 39 Grandchildren, 85 Great-grandchildren 13 Great-great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
Services will be held in Williams & Bluitt Funeral Home, Peoples Chapel at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2012 with visitation from 9 a.m. Burial will be in New Crown Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Williams & Bluitt Funeral Home.
