ARTHUR CROGT OF WAUPUN DIES AT 77

Arthur W. Croft, 77, of 208 Brandon St., Waupun, died at Waupun Memorial hospital on Wednesday morning. He had been a patient there for the past five weeks.

Mr. Croft was born on Sept. 19, 1890, in Bakersfield Vt. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Croft. He married Bertha Hess in Waupun on July 2, 1923. They resided in Waupun all of their lives.

Mr. Croft was a member of the American Legion and the V.F.W. He served during World War II. He was the proprietor of the West Side Tavern and was an alderman for four years. He was also a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waupun.

Survivors include his widow; two sisters, Mrs. Violet McGowen, Bakersfield, Vt.; and Mrs. Carolyn Hand, Manatee, Fla., a brother, Russell, Manatee, Fla; one granddaughter; and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son.


Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kohls Co. Funeral Home, Waupun, The Rev. Gary J. Burkham will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Mound Cemetery in Waupun. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
