MEYERS, Bruce Allen 61, died suddenly Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012 in Tallahassee. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Aida Meyers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 pm, EST, Saturday, Feb. 25th at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with Msgr. John V. O'Sullivan celebrating. Interment, with military honors will follow at Tallahassee Memory Gardens. Arrangements handled by Bevis Funeral Home of Tallahassee, 2710 North Monroe Street in Tallahassee. The family will receive friends from 10 am-12 noon, Saturday, Feb. 25th at the funeral home. Details of a memorial service in St. Petersburg will be announced at a later date. A native of Easton, PA and a longtime resident of St. Petersburg, Capt. Meyers and his family moved to Tallahassee in 1996 upon his retirement from the United States Air Force. He was a communications officer while in the Air Force and was currently a communications supervisor with the Florida Department of Management Affairs. He was also an avid bowler. Other survivors include his mother, Isabella Shaffer, of St. Petersburg; his father, Lloyd Meyers of Wisconsin; four children, Allen Meyers (Lynda), Jessica Meyers, Lillian Bezue (Eric) and Jake Meyers (Edna); four sisters, Brenda Meyers, Shirley Smith and Barbara Breslauer (Ken), all of St. Petersburg and Linda Andres (Eddie) of Largo. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Allen Meyers, Jr., Crystal Meyers, Jacob Meyers and Jake Meyers, Jr.
