Mary E. Wade, 88, of Waynesburg, died at 7:50 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2012, in RespiCenter West, Waynesburg.

She was born Saturday, June 16, 1923, in Cassville, W.Va., daughter of the late Charles Fletcher and Flossie Tennant Fletcher.

Mrs. Wade was a member of Bald Hill Methodist Church from 1949 until its closing in 2006. She was also a member of Women's Social Christian Service and had served as president. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, flowers and quilting.

Mrs. Wade had been married for 51 years to her husband, Lester Wade, who died January 4, 1994.

Surviving are a brother, Emeroy "Bud" Fletcher of Morgantown, W.Va., and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are three sisters, Clara Morris, Delorse Fletcher and Ruby Holbert, and three brothers, Thomas Fletcher, Willise Wright and Merle Fletcher.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 324 Mt. Morris Road, P.O. Box 478, Mt. Morris, PA 15349, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 29, with the Rev. Fred Tomlinson officiating. Burial will be in Garards Fort Cemetery.
