Fremet Guzower Landers Goldfarb was born to Lajzer and Perla (Czopor) Guzower. She moved to Belgium as a young adult and met and married her husband in Belgium. Fremet, who changed her name to Fanny after they arrived in the United States, was responsible for saving her sons from the hands of the Nazis by arranging for them to be hidden in a convent in Louvain. She visted them using fake identification papers, and wearing a large cross necklace and cross earrings. The Landers family lived for many years in San Diego. Fanny was a warm and loving lady with a great sense of humor. She volunteered her time helping others through USO's, hospitals, and children's homes. She spent her last nine years in Roswell sharing her love with her new-found friends at the J.O.Y. Center. "Night has come, sleep well, the day is gone. Stars shine in the canopy of eternity."
