Morgan E. Imbody

MARION: Morgan E. Imbody age 89 of Marion, Ohio, passed away Thursday February 23, 2012 at the Marion Manor Nursing Home. He was born October 11, 1922 in Marion to the late George and Bernice (Corbin) Imbody. On July 16, 1942 in Greenup, Ky., he married Ruth L. Brown who survives.

Morgan was a member of the Oakland United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of W.W. II and served on an Air, Sea and Rescue Vessel from 1941 to 1945. He worked for Symes Motor Sales, Pollock Steel and retired as a maintainence supervisor with Armco Steel. Morgan happily enjoyed his retirement years playing golf in Florida, Myrtle Beach and Marion. He also loved his family, golf and Ohio State Sports.

Morgan leaves behind his loving wife and one daughter and two sons; Terri (Tom) Wallsmith of Marion, Ohio, Richard (Sandy) Imbody of Bucyrus, Ohio and Larry (Sue) Imbody of Lakeland, Fla.; three grandchildren also survive, Tom (Laura) Wallsmith, Jason (Arin) Bowles and Josh Bowles; and four great-granddaughters; two sisters to Morgan also survive, Vivian Elliott and Phyllis Fleming both of Marion, Ohio. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Gene Imbody; and two sisters; Patricia Caudill amd Norma Wasserbeck.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday February 29, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Ralph Velazco. Burial will follow in the Marion Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday two hours prior to the service from 11: 00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Chapel Hill House, P.O. Box 499 Prospect, Ohio, 43342 and the Oakland United Methodist Church, 835 Bellefontaine Ave Marion, Ohio 43302.
