Medal of Honor recipient awarded for services, while serving as a Private in the U.S. Marine Corps, during the Boxer Rebellion. He enlisted on April 8, 1898 under the name Henry W. Davis. He recieved the Medal for his actions in Peking, China July 21 to August 17, 1900. His citation reads: "In the Prsesnce of the emeny during the action at Peking, China, 21 July to 17 August 1900. During this period, Murray distinguished himself by meritorious conduct."
