Bonnie Sue Havard, 70, of Lufkin, was born June 10, 1938, in Zavalla, Texas, the daughter of the late Willard and Revar (Bealer) Barkley. She passed away Sunday, December 25, 2008.

Ms. Havard was a retired maintenance worker for Lufkin State School and was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Ms. Havard was a member of Lancewood Baptist Church in Hudson, Texas.

Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-laws, Shane and Debbie Havard of Huntington; Lane and Linda Havard of Zavalla; sisters, Dixie Tucker of Crockett, Mary Hodges of Maryland, and Jan Davis of Lufkin; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends Paulette Sateren, Robbie Maxwell, and Evelyn Forrest.

Ms. Havard was preceded in death by her brothers Doyle, Fred, Billy and Charles (Butch) Barkley; sisters, Barbara Skillern and Velma Ivey; and great-grandson Ayden Shane Havard.

Services for Ms. Havard will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 28, 2008, in the Oakley-Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Brad Forrest officiating. Interment will follow at Carroll Cemetery.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening, December 27, 2008. Pallbearers will be James Farrell, Bea Lumpkin, James Crawford, Joe Hamb, Royce Mangrum and Audie Christie. Oakley-Metcalf Funeral Home
