Clifford Burtch, for many years a resident of Broadwater county and Townsend, passed away Saturday at the county hospital. He had been ill for several weeks. Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon from the Connors Undertaking parlors. Mr. Burtch was born on November 22, 1859 and came to Montana in 1865 with his parents and lived with his parents and other members of the family at Bedford for a number of years where they were engaged in farming. For many years he made Townsend his home, where he led a retired life, fishing a great deal in the Missouri river. Surviving relatives are two sisters, Cora (Mrs. Frank Jones) and Ella, of Seattle, Washington and Harlow Burtch, of Utah. A brother Jasper, passed away a few years ago in Stockton, California (sic).
