William "Bill" B. Kleck, age 57, of (Pine Twp.) Grove City, PA, died on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at 2:26 PM in the VNA Inpatient Hospice Unit, Butler, PA after a courageous battle with Esophageal Cancer.
He was born on March 6, 1954 in Oil City, PA, the son of the late Genevieve Karg Kleck Weaver and the late Bernard Kleck.
He was a 1972 graduate of Venango Christian High School and a 1976 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh where he earned a dual degree in both Chemistry and Biology.
Bill lived in Grove City since 1981 when he joined the Pennsylvania State Police and was stationed at the Mercer barracks. He served in numerous capacities there including patrolling interstates 79 & 80, county roads, giving drivers' tests, inspecting garages, school busses and inspection stations. In 1996 Bill received a promotion to the rank of Corporal in Harrisburg as well as a new position auditing the states Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistant Network (Clean Audit Unit). He continued this job until his retirement in January 2007, serving the state of Pennsylvania for 26 and half years. Following retirement Bill worked for Fidelity Courier Service, Sharon, PA and Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV, Grove City, PA.
Always having a kind word for everyone, Bill touched the lives of so many people during his lifetime. A man of strong faith and conviction, Bill a lifelong Catholic, attended The Church of The Beloved Disciple in Grove City since 1981 and served as Head Usher in recent years. A true family man, Bill loved nothing more than spending time with his wife Paula, and his two beloved daughters Kimberly and Bridget. He enjoyed Saturday evening dinners with them and taking annual vacations to Myrtle Beach every summer.
Bill enjoyed spending time with his family, going to church and praying, watching the Steelers and working outside in his yard. He especially looked forward to the monthly family poker games.
He is survived by his wife, Paula Calcagno Kleck, whom he married July 7, 1979; two daughters, Kimberly Kleck and Bridget Kleck, both at home; four sisters, Judy Huefner and her husband Rich, Spartanburg, SC, Mary Pilewski and husband Vic, Catherine Gates, both Oil City, PA and Patricia Bates, Meadville, PA; two brothers, John Kleck and wife Juana, North Hills, PA and David Kleck, Beaver Falls, PA. Also he is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Michael Kleck (2002).
Funeral Services: Mass of Christian Burial will be held in The Church of The Beloved Disciple, 1310 S. Center ST Ext., Grove City, PA on Friday, March 2, 2012 at 1:00 PM with the Monsignor Andrew Karg, Monsignor William Karg (cousins of Bill) and Rev. Fr. Michael Allison as celebrants.
