Alice Marie Brooks, born July 27, 1936, in Omaha, Neb., most recently of Huntsville, passed away Thursday at her home.
Alice was the loving wife of Lonnie Brooks for 56 years and his very best friend and companion for 58 years. Alice was a wonderful Christian mother of three children, Pastor Lonnie Dean Brooks, Cynthia Marie Crawford, and Rebecca Lynn Boley, all of Huntsville, and the grandmother of Cameron Michael Boley and Clarissa Rae Brooks. Alice is also survived by her two sisters, Jacqueline Kyle and husband Todd of Holton, Kan., and Mary Ann Smith of Liberty, S.C.
Alice was a faithful Christian since childhood, and an active member of First Flint River Baptist Church in Meridianville. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her, including family, relatives, and friends. However, her testimony and legacy will live on in all those whose lives she touched.
All funeral services are being provided by Valhalla Funeral Home on Winchester Road. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday and funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Alice's son, Pastor L. Dean Brooks of First Flint River Baptist Church, will be the officiating minister with special music provided by the Rev. Curtis Eason of Antioch Baptist Church.
