Marie Wilhelminia Dorothea Berghorn was born August 28, 1855, in Neundorf Hanover Germany. She moved to America in 1881, to Fort Wayne, Indiana, in the spring of 1882, and to Seward County Nebraska in 1883. There she and Gottfried Wyssmann were married April 1, 1883. Marie died September 9, 1937, at Fairmont, Oklahoma, at the age of 82 years and 12 days. Service was held at Zion Lutheran Church September 11 and burial at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Officiating clergyman was Rev. H. F. Meyer of Covington, Oklahoma, in the absence of Rev. Henry Mueller, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church.
