Dies Suddenly At Philadelphia
SAMUEL M. PATT
Samuel M. Patt of 39 Mansion Blvd., well-known Altoona wholesale produce merchant, died suddenly at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. A brother, Maurice Patt, of Altoona died following a heart attack on April 3 of this year.
Mr. Patt was born in Youngstown, Ohio, March 9, 1911, a son of Herman and Esther (Horwitz) Patt, and was united in marriage with the former Miss Mary Gunnett.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving as a sergeant in the China-Burma-India Theater and participated in the campaign against the Japanese to establish the famous Burma Road supply line.
Mr. Patt was a member of the Temple Beth Israel Synagogue, Altoona Lodge, B.P.O.E, the Jewish War Veterans, Charles R. Rowan Post 228, American Legion.
Surviving are his wife; three brothers. Louis and Robert of Altoona and Henry of Washington, D.C., and one sister, Mrs. Florence Neuman of Altoona.
Friends will be received at the Lafferty Funeral Home after 9 a.m. tomorrow.
PATT – Services for Samuel M. Patt of 39 Mansion Boulevard, Altoona, will be held at the Lafferty Funeral Home on Friday at 2 p.m. by Rabbi Nathan Kaber. Interment in Mount Sinai Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Lafferty Funeral Home after 9 a.m. Friday.
