On Tuesday, 12 February 1946, Richard entered into active duty service with the United States Navy and held the rank of SEAMAN FIRST CR SI and was discharge from the United States Navy on Monday, 8 December 1947.
Richard attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, CA., where he obtained a vocational certificate in Animal Husbandry in 1952.
He worked for CalTrans, where he retired after 20 years of service.
Mr. Cox is survived by his wife, Linda Cox, sons, Charles Cox and Robert Cox.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett Cox and Margaret (Ziegler) Cox, first wife, Anna Hooululahui Cox, daughter, Margaret Ann (Cox) Brown, sister, Joan Margaret Cox. age 11.
