John Francis Cheairs JR. was born in 1812 in Arkansas to John Cheairs Sr. and his 1 st. wife Elizabeth Bugg she died soon after giving birth.
John JR. had 8 Brothers and 5 Sisters, one of his Sisters was Margret Rebbeca Cheairs who married William Carroll Stanley their both buried in Johnson Cemetery.

John married Basheba Stanley in 1834 they had the following children born to there marriage:
1- Green B.Cheairs born-1835
2-Samantha Marelda Cheairs born-Feb.-1838 in Angelina Co.TX. and died Dec.-1910
3-Mary Ann Talitha born-1842 in Angelina Co. TX.
4-John L.born-1844 in Angelina Co.TX.
5-Elizabeth born 1845 in Angelina County TX.
6-Stephen F.born 1849 in Angelina County TX. died in 1890.


John fought in The Battle Of San Jancinto we are very proud of Uncle John Cheairs at the present time he does not have a marker but we have plans to make one soon.
