Gary held a BBA degree from the University of Notre Dame, an MBA from Long Island University, and was a licensed insurance agent in New Jersey and New York. His last position in industry was Vice President Sales & Marketing, DML Translation Services. He spent 20 years with leading sales, marketing and communications companies; Bergen Record, Dow Jones & Company, Gannett and Donnelley Directory before embarking on a new career as a licensed insurance broker. Gary was a highly committed, practicing Christian and a member of the Ramapo Hills Chapel Board. Beloved husband of Linda (De Yoe) Pauwels. Devoted son of William and Mary Lu Pauwels of Franklin Lakes, NJ. Loving grandparents Mrs. Victor Louagie; Mrs. Remi Pauwels. Dear brother of Stephen Pauwels and his wife Maureen of Londonderry, NH; Michelle (Pauwels) Alexander and her husband Brian of Franklin Lakes; Thomas Pauwels and his wife Colleen of Midland Park, NJ; William Pauwels, Jr. and his wife Mireya of Waldwick, NJ; Remi Pauwels and his wife Becky of Shark River, NJ. Also survived by fifteen loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services at 9:30 AM on Wednesday from Vander Plaat Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes, NJ. A Funeral Mass at 10 AM at Most Blessed Sacrament RC Church, Franklin Lakes. Interment at Christ The King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes, NJ.
