MURRAY BALLARD, 89, Hamilton, died on Saturday, February 8, 2003, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Miss. He was born on August 17, 1913, in Marion County, the son of the late Alvin J. and Maude Murray Ballard. He was a retired printer with the U.S. Government, the former mayor of Hamilton, and a member of the Masonic Lodge. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Funeral services were held on Monday, February 10, 2003, at 11 a.m. from the Hamilton United Methodist Church with burial in the Hamilton City Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife - Retha Ballard, Hamilton; one godchild - Retha Tack Lockhart, Sterling, VA; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Hamilton Funeral Home directed the services.
