Charles was born in 1790, married Lucina Leavitt. She died leaving four children. In 1840 he married Elizabeth Brooks and had two more children. They migrated from New York to Penna, to Ohio and back to Penna. settling on a farm in Venango Co. where he lived until his death in 1867. He fought in the War of 1812, serving as a corporal in Capt. Isaiah Post's Company in Col. Tuttle's 76th Regiment of the New York State Militia.
