Evelyn was born September 9, 1923, in Whitt, Texas. After graduating high school, she worked at Camp Walter's Army Base during World War II. Evelyn worked as the terminal supervisor for Amon Carter Field in Ft. Worth, until its closure in 1963. She also supervised the airport's sound studio for flight announcements and was know as one of the "Golden Voices."
She married Lester N. Anenson in 1964 and moved to Fairfield. Evelyn enjoyed her home, family and church, which was always her main focus. She excelled in quilting and embroidery. Evelyn and Les devoted many hours to their church, Trinity Lutheran.
She was predeceased by her spouse, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Lester N. Anenson (Feb. 25, 2006) and her son, Wendell W. Sells Jr. of Ft. Worth, Texas.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jacquelyn and David DuBois, and her beloved grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Harold and Kristina Jones. She is also survived by her daughters and their spouses, Cora Lea and W. L. Jenkins of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; Roberta and Ben Lathrop of Mineral Wells, Texas; Rebecca Sue and Jake Jacobson of Anderson, Calif.; grandsons, Timothy Anenson and Chris Anenson of Vacaville; Joshua and Aaron Waddle, John and Joey Zais; great-grandsons, Jimmy and Timmy Jones of Benicia; and Ryan Anenson; and great-granddaughters, Kelsey and Taylor Anenson of Vacaville.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2012, at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, 1850 West Texas Street, Fairfield. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2012, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2075 Dover Avenue, Fairfield. Burial to follow immediately at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery, 1707 Union Avenue, Fairfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to California Hospice and/or Trinity Lutheran Church.
