Funeral rites for Clifton O. Magee, 45, manager of the South Texas Lumber Company , will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon from the First Methodist Church. Mr. Magee, lumber company manager here since 1930, died at 12:45 o'clock Monday afternoon in a local hospital. He had been in failing health for a number of months. He had been associated with the same lumber firm for 26 years. Dr.Ray N. Johnson, pastor of the First Methodist Church,will conduct the funeral services. Johnson's Funeral Home is in charge. Burial will be in Lawnhaven Memorial Park, with Masonic rites at the graveside. Mr. Magee was a member of the Methodist Church, the Business Mens Bible Class, and the local Lions Club. He was a past master of the Concho Masonic Lodge No. 1260.' A native Texan, Magee was born Dec. 23, 1904, at Pandora, Wilson County. He graduated from Pandora High School and attended Tyler Commercial College at Tyler; For a short time, he was employed with a grocery store and then joined the South Texas Lumber Co. at the age of 19 in 1924. On June 30, 1927, he was married to Miss Linna Mae Kennedy at Lamesa. The couple had one son, Robert Clifton, 21, and two daughters, Marilyn, 17, and Linda Lee, 8.

Before coming to San Angelo twenty years ago, Magee was with the lumber firm at Sterling City, Nixon, Big Lake, and San Benito. He was a charter member of the Sterling City Lions Club. Survivors other than the widow and three children include three sisters, Mrs. J. A. Russell and Mrs.' Florence Buck of Slaton, and Mrs. Frank Pooley of Stockdale; and two brothers, Robert, of Nixon, and Ansel Magee of Grandfalls. Pallbearers will be Carlos Johnson, Ross Hardy, O. E. Harvey, Dick Henson, R. D. Ellis, and Alvin Walraven.
