She was born the eldest daughter of Burt Franklin and Glenda Elizabeth Weeding Johnson. She married Rodney Bert Ball on September 27, 1952 in Ely, Nevada; together they had six children. She was a social worker for the State of Utah Child Protective Services. She was awarded the Silver Bowl Award for her actions as a volunteer for senior causes in Juab County. Preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, John Robert Ball, a granddaughter, Patricia Louise Ball, and a stillborn daughter, Meda, as well as half-sisters Maurine Davies and Helen Anderson.
