Charlotte Adell Allen, 68, 1705 Longwood, Sycamore, died Thursday, April 21, 1982 at Kishwaukee Community Hospital. She was born Jan. 1, 1914, at Oconomowoc, Wis., the daughter of LeRoy and Marlea (Jones) MacAdam. She married Dr. William Jex Allen in Aurora, June 14, 1940.

Mrs. Allen was a dietician at Northern Illinois University for more than 15 years and retired from the university in 1969.

She is survived by a son William J. Allen of DeKalb; a daughter, Mrs. Ed (Judy) Salsberry of Kingston; three grandsons; a granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of DeKalb where she was active in the women's fellowship group. She was a graduate of NIU and a member of the NIU Alumni Association.

Service will be at the First Congregational Church in DeKalb at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Donald Mayer. Cremation will follow. Friends may call at the Anderson Funeral Home Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m.
