Wayne Hickerson, 51, of Milliken died July 12, 2002, in Fort Collins.
He was born Aug. 29, 1950, in Sterling to Elmer Shelton Hickerson and Anna Ethel Nestor. He had resided in the Front Range area for the last 20 years.
Mr. Hickerson was a licensed practical nurse and worked for Banner Staffing. He was instrumental in AIDS education in the area.
He loved gardening and his pets. He had a great love of animals and nature. He will be dearly missed by a large extended family.
He is survived by son Brian Vanderwyk and wife Jamie of Milliken; one brother; three sisters; and several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his partner, Robert Vanderwyk.
A Celebration of Life will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, at the south pavilion in Windsor Park, 300 Locust St.
Cremation will be completed.
