78, OF HERRIN DIES

Mrs Joyce Graves, 78, of 761 N 23rd St, Herrin died at 8:35 a.m. Sunday in Herrin Hospital.

She was born June 16, 1890, in Herrin, daughter of John and Viola Parsons Keaster. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Herrin.

Mrs Graves leaves her sons, Dr Allen W Graves of Louisville, Ky., Dr Harold Graves of Mill Valley, Calif., and Dr. James H Graves of Grosse Point Park, Mich; daughters, Mrs Thelma Arnold of Houston, Tex., and Mrs Rachel Broke of Grosse Point Park; sisters, Mrs Mae Hinchcliff of O'Fallon and Mrs Zella Gentry of Burlington, Vt., half brother, Frank Keaster of Miami, Fla.; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Henry Graves, one brother and one sister.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Herrin with the Rev Maurice Swinford officiating. Burial will be in Herrin City Cemetery. Friends may call any time at the George Van Natta Funeral Home, Herrin.
