Early Life: Virgil was born August 31, 1912, in Coyote (Antimony), Utah, to Robert Barrowman and Maud Snyder Gleave.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: Virgil was a self-employed rancher, farmer and produce entrepreneur. On August 31, 1934, he married Melba Taylor and lived in John's Valley for several years. Later, they moved to Monroe, Utah, where they raised four children before moving to Provo and entering the produce business. Virgil truly loved his children and spent his life serving and enjoying them and their children. He was always there in time of need for family and friends. He enjoyed sports and encouraged his children and grandchildren to participate. He especially enjoyed boxing and taught his sons a lesson or two over the years. He enjoyed the outdoors, good art, loved to read and tell stories. A wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend, Virgil Walter Gleave, peacefully passed away October 13, 2001, in Orem, Utah. He was surrounded by his family.
Survived By: His sons, Winston (Karen Mae) Gleave, American Fork; Kinley Gleave, Flagstaff, AZ; daughter, Mirreo (Steve) Nelson, St. George; daughter-in-law, Connie Gleave, Duchesne; 12 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Merthell (Bea, deceased) Gleave, CA; Scott (Beth) Gleave, Antimony, Jack (Betty Kay) Gleave, Irva (Pete) Sudweeks, Marva (Gerald, deceased) Allen, all of Kingston, Bobbie (Garn) Barnson, Junction.
Preceded In Death By: His wife; son, Prentiss Gleave; and brothers: Otto (Varis), Marcus (Marguerite), Levere, Charlie, Larene and Buddy Gleave.
