From a list created by S.D. Sandusky and published in the Linneus Bulletin, May 23, 1889, F. M. Boles was a Union Soldier who is buried in the Linneus Cemetery. This was found on page 20 of the Excepts from the Linneus Bulletin published by the Linn County Genealogical Researchers.
Francis Marion Boles 1843-1885, page 425 is the son of James R. and Elizabeth (Cook) Boles and he was born in Yellow Creek Townshp two miles north of St. Catharine, on the eighth day of December, 1843. The father came to Linn Co. from Kentucky in Oct. 1840. Mr. Boles was married on the twenty ninth day of Sept. 1878, to Miss Ella Crowley, dau of Charles Crowley. They have one daughter.
