Albert John Barzacchini, 93 of Richmond, IN died Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, IN. Born on August 25, 1918 in Delphos, OH he was the son of the late Frederick & Hazel (Bianchi) Barzacchini. He served in the U.S. Army during W.W. II. In 1938, he married his wife Mildred and they honeymooned at the Leland Hotel in Richmond. He was the owner/operator of the Jockey Steak House in Marion, OH from 1948 to 1960. In 1969 he came to the Richmond area after managing Holiday Inns in Mansfield and Marion, OH. He was the Innkeeper and General Manager at the Holiday Inn in Richmond, IN from 1969 through 1989. Active in community service, serving as a long-time member and officer in the Sertoma Club of Richmond and attended St. John's Catholic Church in New Paris. Preceded in death by brothers: Alfred Barzacchini in 1971 and Edmund Barzacchini in 1972.

Survived by his wife of 73 years: Mildred (Evans) Barzacchini; daughters & son-in-law: Kathryn Barzacchini of Cincinnati, OH and Phyllis & Charles Niederhelman of Richmond, IN; sons & daughters-in-law: Kenneth & Connie Barzacchini of Pensacola, FL and Michael & Susan Barzacchini of Hoffman Estates, IL; 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; brother: Lewis Barzacchini of Akron, OH

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at St. John's Catholic Church – New Paris, OH with Rev. J. Thomas Fitzsimmons officiating. Interment will be in Preble Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Barnes Funeral Home – 109 West Main Street – New Paris, OH with Rosary Service at 7:00 PM.
