OBITUARY
Mr. J. W. Matlock, age 70, of Colt, died on Saturday, June 10, 2006, at his daughter's home in Brinkley. Mr. Matlock was born March 1, 1936, in Forrest City. He was the son of James W. Matlock and Agnes South Matlock. He made his home in Colt for most of his life and was retired from Arkansas Electric. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.Mr. Matlock married Cordie June Shepherd in 1958 and she preceded him in death in 2002. He is survived by four daughters, Annette Sherman of Brinkley, Sarah Moll of Morrilton, Teresa O'Dell and Donna Stidham both of Colt; two sisters, Pauline Worley and Linda Kay Boren, both of Forrest City; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Steven Sherman, in 1997.Visitation for Mr. Matlock will be held on Monday, June 12, 2006, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Loughridge in Colt.
