Frederick Kufleitner, 66, of Alliance, died on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at 10:25 a. m. at Alliance Community Hospital.

Born on August 11, 1945 in Salem, he lived in Alliance most of` his life.

He was a graduate of United Local High School, and served our country in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

He retired from the GM Lordstown, where he was employed as a spot welder.

Mr. Kufleitner was a member of the B.P.O. Elks #467 and the American Legion Post #166.

In his past-time, he enjoyed gardening, golfing, bowling and especially loved spending time fishing with his granddaughter, Makenna.

Survivors include his daughter, Melissa (Micheal) Lins of Alliance; his granddaughter, Makenna Eden Lins; two sisters, Mary Harrington and Rose Homan; a brother, Ed (Pam) Kufleitner; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death was his wife, Patricia Kufleitner on May 25, 2008, whom he married on June 6, 1971; his parents, Mathias and Mary (Bender) Kufleitner; and two brothers, Bob and Matt.

The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, March 9, 2012 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. A BPO Elk's service will be held on Friday, at 5:30 p.m.

His funeral service will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral home on Saturday, March 10, 2012 , at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Ed Harnish of Marlboro Christian Church officiating.

Interment, with military honors provided by the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
