Member of GAR. He served as corporal of Company D 28th Regt. and also Co. E. 122nd Regt. Pa. Vol.

Benjamin Bunker, an old and well known resident of this section, died at his home near Zeltenreich's church on Thursday evening, in the sixty-eighth year of his age. Deceased had been in poor health since last spring, and had been confined to bed for about six weeks prior to his death. He was a day laborer and was very quiet, unassuming and obiging in his dispostion. He was a member of the United Brethren church. He had served in Company D 28th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteers, during the Rebellion and was drawing pension.
The funeral of the deceased will take place on Monday and the interment will be made at Weaverland cemetery.

He had two daughter's Josephine and Eliza Jane no known memorial for Josephine who died of consumption in 1878 and Eliza who died in 1926 is buried in Unionville Cemetery Chester County Pa also no marker or record other than a obit. Both daughter's where married to the same man Robert Edwin Coover 1st Josephine and a year later Eliza. Robert was in the service and probably where he met Benjamin and his future wife's I do not know at his time if they had other children.
