Nobility. Born the only son of Robert II and his first wife Amicie de Courtenay. He succeeded his mother as Count of Conches-en-Ouche and Mehun-sur-Yèvre. In 1281 he married Blanche de Bretagne who bore him seven children. On April 20th 1297 he was wounded in the Battle of Veurne and barely escaped with his life. He suffered from the wounds for more than a year before dying.
