No. 4592 HAMLIN, Nathaniel, Clackamas Co; b 1809, Franklin Co., OH; Arr. Ore. 30 Sept 1848; SC 20 Mar 1853; m Nancy Ann 15 June 1829, Delaware Co, OH. Aff: John C. Hamlin, Alonzo Gates. Was this John C. Hamlin the older brother of Nathaniel, b. probably about 1790?

Nathaniel Hamlin was in the same company of the same wagon train as my gr-gr-grandfather, Burrel Bell Griffin in 1848.

Based on the newspaper articles posted to his memorial, I have entered 12 May as his date of death. Such a sad situation!!

Suggested edit: Articles I've pieced together from the Oregon & Washington seem to indicate that his death actually occurred in May 1866 (see photo of article I uploaded). I haven't been able to figure out which hospital or cemetery he would have been taken to either.

I have been unable to locate anything about when his wife died either, but she was Nancy Ann Laskey (Hamlin)
